Summary

It’s often thought that liver damage is always caused by too much alcohol or sugar, but there is something MUCH worse. Pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, plastics, and forever chemicals contain toxic compounds that mimic estrogen. These toxins fit into the estrogen receptors in your cells and activate the estrogen effect in certain parts of the body. These chemicals overstimulate estrogen receptors in the body, which can cause the following problems:•Reduced bile production•Increased risk of breast cancer•Increased incidence of hypothyroidism•Weight gain•Increased breast tissue in men•Increased acne •Decreased sperm count •Decreased testosterone levels •Estrogen dominance in postmenopausal womenThese toxins that mimic estrogen are called xenoestrogens. A healthy liver can eliminate these chemicals from the body, but if liver health is compromised or overloaded, it may be difficult. Avoid xenoestrogens as much as possible, although it may be impossible to avoid them all. You must also support the liver’s ability to detox naturally. A properly functioning liver takes harmful fat-soluble chemicals and turns them into harmless water-soluble particles to be removed from the body.Cruciferous vegetables such as kale, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and arugula contain potent phytonutrients that work as a natural liver detox. DIM supplements are a concentrated cruciferous extract that can help naturally cleanse your liver. Some cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli sprouts and radishes, contain the phytonutrient sulforaphane, which can increase over 200 detox genes. It also feeds the gut bacteria that can help you detoxify chemicals. The liver contains a hormone called sex hormone-binding globulin, vital to protect you against excess estrogen in the body. Cruciferous vegetables can help increase this hormone. Here are a few natural remedies that can improve liver function and liver health:•Cruciferous vegetables•DIM •NAC •CholineDr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. the best way to detoxify your liver. People automatically think, oh, it's too much alcohol or it's

0:06.1

too much sugar or something like that. Well, that doesn't even compare to what's really destroying

0:09.8

the liver. You're exposed to this every single day. And there's really only one way to fix it.

This entire topic is based on one piece of information. Pesticides, insecticides, herbicides,

herbicides, fungicides, plastics, forever chemicals. All of this

0:23.5

toxicity mimics estrogen. What? Mimics estrogen? This is a cell. This hormone estrogen receptor is very,

0:30.3

very different than other hormone receptors. All these other environmental toxins can fit into that

0:36.5

estrogen receptor and activate the estrogen effect

0:40.7

in certain parts of your body. What's really happening on a global scale is we're creating estrogen

0:45.5

dominance. Let's take a look at what happens when that estrogen receptor gets too triggered. Okay. In the

0:51.0

liver, you're not going to produce as much bile. And bile is like the key thing

0:56.0

to help eliminate the toxins in the chemicals. If you don't have enough bile, the chemicals get recycled.

1:01.3

This can lead to an inflamed liver, fatty liver, cirrhosis. Let's talk about the breast tissue.

1:05.8

That has estrogen receptors too. We're dealing with the increased risk of breast cancer,

1:10.1

not from actual estrogen,

1:11.8

but from chemicals that can fit into the estrogen receptor. There's estrogen receptors in the uterus.

1:18.6

It can also affect fertility, and definitely it affects the menstrual cycle. Then you have receptors

1:24.4

in your thyroid. And this is a classic situation where you're developing

1:28.6

hypothyroidism from the estrogen that goes into the thyroid. And by the way, too much estrogen

1:34.8

equals too much fat, especially around the hips and even increase breast tissue in men.

1:40.7

Your skin has receptors for estrogen. These toxins activate estrogen receptors, which increase

1:46.5

acne. And there's receptors in the testes, too. So that's going to decrease testosterone.
