Now, I'm also happy this week to welcome Megan Murphy to the podcast. Welcome, Megan. Thank you, John. Thanks for having me. She's one of the newest members of the Eat This, Not That family, and Megan has been covering the food space for a long while and has some really great insights that I'm sure you all will find as valuable as I do. So let's get going into today's topic, Megan. What do you love

0:39.4

about breakfast? So I am such a big breakfast fan. I always make time to have breakfast in the

0:46.6

morning, whether I'm on the go or I'm at home. I think it's so important. And it really just

0:50.6

sets me up for the entire day. If I have a nutritious, hearty breakfast, I won't have that mid-morning slump of energy. And I want to make better choices throughout the day. Right. And you're always told, like, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And, you know, it's the one meal that you really don't want to short change yourself because it to your point like

1:10.8

it sets up the rest of the day I too am a big breakfast person as I said it's oatmeal for me

1:15.7

almost every day unless I'm making pancakes for the boys on the weekend in which case I'll have

1:19.6

some pancakes as well because why not they're pancakes but again it's like you don't we talked about

1:25.1

this before you don't want to be hangary in the first part of the day. Like, that's not that's not what you want to kind of people like, oh, what's wrong with Megan today? Why she's so angry at me? That's because she skipped breakfast. So you don't, you don't want to be, you want to go there. And breakfast seems to be having a moment right now, which makes this a great topic for, for the podcast because, you know, so many places are offering an all-day breakfast. You know, McDonald's has gone to an all-day breakfast menu, and there's a reason for that. It's because we love breakfast. We love breakfast foods, I should say. So why not eat it all day if you can? Now, there are some folks out there that don't share our affection for breakfast and maybe they skip breakfast altogether.

2:01.8

And we'll get to that in just a moment. But first, you know, most of us wouldn't think about

2:05.7

tackling the day or a big task without reaching for a cup of coffee for a quick pick me up.

2:10.8

Lately, I've actually started to reach for something else, four-sigmatic mushroom coffee.

2:15.2

I first came across four-sigmatic when I started drinking their chaga mushroom elixir. This was an effort to try and bolster my immune system, and I was looking for something to kind of break up my afternoon coffee habit. Now I use a number of their super tasty coffee drinks and also mushroom elixirs to power me through various parts of my day. I like to exercise in the morning, so I've started to kick off my day with their mushroom coffee mix. That also includes cordy

2:38.2

and chaga. This is nice because it helps me shake off a night's sleep without making me too

2:43.0

jittery or upsetting my stomach without too much in it by having that heavy dose of acid

2:48.6

that coffee can deliver. You see, their coffee drinks are less acidic than normal coffee, so there's less stomach burning, which is key before setting off on a long run or a bike ride for me. I've also started to mix things up by adding their rishi elixir mix in the evenings as well, and this has the opposite effect. This actually helps me settle in after a long day. Four-Sigmatic has a number of great products that help reduce stress, improve concentration, and alertness. The best part is that they're all made with the highest quality ingredients. No pesticides, no misotoxins. If you're avoiding caffeine, they have a bunch of great tasting drinks that are caffeine-free, too. Now, one of the great things about this podcast is that we get to talk about the foods and drinks that we actually really love and share them with all of our listeners.

3:28.5

To that end, the folks at Four Sigmaicmatic have helped me out with a great offer for our listeners.
