host Dr. Michelle Daph. Thank you for being here and as promised I'm here

today with this segment talking about the benefits of being a homemaker.

I got some really positive feedback after the last podcast where I talked about how I went from being a career woman to being in the home and I

wanted just to talk a little bit about what are some of the things that I

experience that really make it worth it because again this is one of those topics that doesn't get talked about enough

we have a lot of misconceptions and prejudices and stereotypes about women who stay in the home. I mean literally there are shows about housewives. I

remember being younger I was literally obsessed with the show Desperate Housewives I

loved that show and it seemed like that show is what like

Thrusted this whole movement of housewife reality shows which is you know something I do not watch and I think is

completely outrageous and ridiculous, but I think those shows have also perverted

and changed how people see women who stay at home.

There's either a perception that they are like these depressed, frumpy,

oppressed women who have to slave away in the house or there are these women who

are sitting down doing nothing drinking champagne looking cute spending all

of their husband's money.

And neither of those things are how homemaking really should be in a sense that this is something

that is a blessing to you and your family, and it's not about you being a slave and it's not about you

being a princess. It's about you just being you and exercising your gifts in the home to bless every single person who steps in it.

In anything, literally anything, people can destroy the perceptions of it,

but it's up to you as an individual person to do your own studying and your own research
