What is the real purpose of celebrating Christmas?

To me, as I answer that great question, is that God so loved the world

that He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for you and to die for me.

That's the reason for the real season that we celebrate even here tonight.

I talk to people all the time and it's amazing when you talk to them about Christ and you talk

to them about Christmas, we go back in history and we know that Christmas was not really in

December, but it was sometime around

October. And what's incredible about Christmas is that it is a holiday that has been given to

those people that are worshippers of Christ. And yet there are people that when they celebrate Christmas, they get so caught up with

the glamour of Christmas, the glamour of television, the glamour of ads and malls and

news advertisements.

And the philosophy of the world is always this, you deserve it, so buy it.
