The battle is on for Jerusalem. Will Jerusalem be divided? Why is Jerusalem such a hot button issue?

Israel has a God-given destiny and is a chosen nation.

A lot of people argue that, but that's scriptural. And though it is only a

little nation that makes up less than one-tenth of one percent of the world's population,

Israel is in the news every day, every week, and every month.

And it's at the center of it all is Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel.

And there's always been a battle for control of Jerusalem because people know if they can take Jerusalem away, all of Israel falls apart, right?

According to the Jerusalem Post, U.S. President Joe Biden's administration is talking about a reopening a U.S. consulate in Jerusalem to make it easier for the Palestinian population to receive consular services.

And the Palestinian Authority sees it as really a redividing of Jerusalem, an act that would violate, really, American law.

American law is quite clear.

The U.S. Jerusalem Embassy Act repeatedly stresses the unity and indivisibility of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

And it states it says, in 1967, the city of Jerusalem was united during the conflict known as a six-day war.

Jerusalem has been a united city administered by Israel, and Jerusalem should remain an undivided city, recognized

as the capital of the state of Israel.

The Palestinian Authority sees opening the consulate in Jerusalem as a rejection of all these statutes of American law.

Explaining the international implications of the U.S. reopening of the consulate,

Palestinian Authority, Prime Minister Mahmoud Shai,

stated that the move is important for the Palestinians because the message from this Biden administration is that Jerusalem is not one united Israeli city and that the American administration does not recognize the annexation of Arab Jerusalem.
