Hey, we're back for a third round of Balde's deliberations.

Again, this is our dumb award show.

It has no more meaning or supremacy than any other, but at least we're transparent about what we think and why we rated things the way that we did.

Today we're here to talk about first-run movies. These are all the movies, not necessarily...

These are all the movies that one of us, Jim or I have seen this year that came out this year.

It does not require us to have covered it or even talked about it, but we have to have seen it at the same year it came out to be eligible.

Let's dive in.

You haven't seen Changchi in the Ten Rin, the legend of the Ten Rings.

I'm not.

This is the best non-Spy-M marvel thing that's come out since probably Avengers end game.

Nice. Yeah I need to check it out. It's pretty good. It's pretty good. I imagine

because I had no idea how to calibrate this guy's power level like I assumed he was kind of like a

daredevil type but he's by the end of this movie could easily be an avenger like level you know easily could

probably duke it out with Tony Stark so if Tony Stark were not dead. This was you know has a distinctly kind of like you know Asian

specifically Chinese mythic feel like in terms of the design and some of the characters and some of the like

monster design is really inspired like heavily from those legends and stuff and I

like you know you see so much stuff that's based on broadly speaking Western culture it's kind of nice to see that

it has a lot of heart in terms of this is about a broken family unit a mom and dad who

loved each other a lot but had some problems and the mother died and the dad maybe, you know, took a super villain turn on that and what that did to the kids.

And, you know, then it did ads like a nice little hero's journey on top of that, like, you know,

finding out that you're special and what that means and harnessing that power and you know gathering

allies and all that stuff it's a I really really enjoyed it and it's such a cool, like it starts off, it definitely does the like Game of Thrones thing where it starts off with ice zombies and it retreats into political intrigue for nine, you know, episodes
