For nearly seven years, Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, was hold up in the Ecuadorian

Embassy in London.

Giving interviews to friendly journalists, hurling barbs at U.S. and other Western officials,

portraying himself as a facilitator for whistleblowers all over the world to expose corruption

and governmental abuses.

At the same time, of course, Assange was serving as a conduit, winning or not, to Russian

military intelligence in their efforts to disrupt the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

But this week, the gig was up.

Having worn out his welcome with the Ecuadorians, Assange was dragged out of the embassy by

British police, and is now facing extradition to the U.S. over a newly unsealed charge

by the Justice Department that he conspired with one of his whistleblowers, former Army

private-chelsing manning, to crack the password of a classified defense department computer.

How strong is the case against Assange, and does it have implications for the journalists

who are more than willing to publish the documents that WikiLeaks has exposed?

We'll discuss with somebody who knows a lot about Assange and WikiLeaks, the former top

lawyer for the U.S. intelligence community, and will also delve into a drama that has

gripped the Washington Legal community, the indictment of Gregory Craig, the former White

House counsel to Barack Obama, on charges that grew out of Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.
