This is Tony Ranky host of Ask Pastor John, a podcast I've been honored to host and

produce now for over a decade.

And in that first decade, we produced about 2,000 episodes, over 220 hours worth of content.

It's a huge archive.

And it's so huge that I now feel the weight of trying to figure out how do I steward all of that content

so that it remains useful to you in the future when you need it.

Over the years friends have emailed me to help navigate the archive and to find the right

APJ episode to answer some pressing dilemma in their life or in their church.

And I would take their question, go hunting in the archive, and inevitably I would come away with two or three or four episodes,

sometimes ten or more episodes, even little parts of episodes that seemed relevant to help answer their question.

And so I had to figure out how to communicate all of that in one email back

and not overwhelm them with a bunch of content and a bunch of episodes to listen to.

So to do what I did is I put on my

journalist's hat and I responded with a written-out digest of all the relevant

episodes and what they say. Over time people said that these digests were really helpful for benefiting

from the full archive, not just from one episode.

So a couple years back, I wondered,

what if I took our 750 most popular episodes, the most broadly

applicable ones, and made one huge digest to cover all those essential episodes.
