Thank you. True Crime Podcast. A pretrial hearing took place Tuesday in Deadham, Massachusetts for the retrial of

defendant Karen Reid.

44-year-old Reed is accused of murdering her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe,

in January of 2022. Her first trial ended with a hung jury.

On Tuesday, dog bite expert Dr. Marie Russell returned to the stand to undergo questioning by the

prosecution who was attempting to exclude her testimony for Reed's second trial.

The second trial was originally scheduled for January 27th, but the judge has delayed until

April 1st. Fox 25 Boston reporter Ted Daniel joins me back on the podcast with the

latest on this high profile case. So Ted, for anyone tuning in who's just now hearing about this case,

can you just give us a brief rundown? Tell us who Karen is, how the first trial ended, and how the next trial is shaping

up to be. Yeah, this case has been three years in the making, and there have been so many

twists and turns like nothing I have ever seen before, but she is accused of running down her

Boston police officer boyfriend at the time, John O'Keefe, in Canton, Massachusetts, which is south of Boston, in a snowstorm back in January 2022.

And the police said that she struck O'Keefe with her car and left the scene.

And O'Keefe was found the next morning with injuries to the back of his head and to his face.
