Today we're going to be taking a look at a topic that we have spent some time discussing

on this podcast, which is the American Revolution.

But we're going to be looking at it from a different angle today.

We're going to look at it from the other side of the Atlantic, so to speak,

the British perspective or perspectives on the American Revolution. And I am joined for our

conversation today appropriately by someone who is on the other side of the pond. Liam

Heffernan. Leon is the host and producer of America, the podcast, America, the story of the USA, which is being done in cooperation or in partnership with the British Association for American Studies.

Liam has spent a lot of time thinking about the story of America and its relation with the United Kingdom.

And other larger issues that we're going to be talking about today, Liam, it's great to have

you with us on the American idea. Yeah, Jeff, thank you so much for inviting me on. I mean,

you're right. I spend a lot of time thinking about America more so than

my own country. I guess whether that's good or bad, I don't know. But America is a fascinating

place with an extremely short but complex history, and I love talking about it. Well, I don't
