Summary

The grass is not always greener. Emre Can no doubt can testify to that. A year after choosing to let his Liverpool contract run down, he now finds himself seemingly unwanted by Juventus, the club he signed for on a free transfer. The Germany international was left out of Juve’s starting line-up for the first two games of the Serie A season and, damningly, has now been left out of their Champions League squad completely. Contrast that to the mood of his former team-mates at Anfield, who sit top of the Premier League with four wins from four and, of course, can soon look forward to defending the Champions League crown they won the season directly after Can left for Italy. So, for the latest instalment of The Agenda, our Liverpool FC correspondent Paul Gorst joins Joe Rimmer to talk about the 25-year-old’s current plight, his departure from the Reds, and whether he would still play a part for Jurgen Klopp had he chose to stay put. And there’s also talk on Liverpool’s own Champions League squad. Enjoy – and our main podcasts will be back, starting tomorrow.  For information regarding your data privacy, visit acast.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices.
