We're continuing with the portal talk, but now we're done breaking down like individual teams.

And there's a bunch of different thought into how a team should operate the transfer portal.

It is some like to call it a necessary evil in today's, you know, game of college football.

It is. It is. And there's a bunch of different ways to approach it. You have some teams like Notre Dame who still want to major in the high school pipeline, but then supplement their roster through the transfer portal. Then there's other programs that just year over year, just overhaul their rosters with the portal and just kind of keep their fingers crossed that it pans out. It kind of begs the question,

which is the best? What is the best way to succeed? And that's where we kind of start this

conversation. Well, and that's, and we're going to kind of combine two topics here because the other

topic is that the other part of this topic is how important 2026 is going to be towards setting a precedent.

Because if you look at the first two years where the portal was just really bonkers, that'd be last year, you know, so going into 2024 and then going into 2025,

this will be the third year where the portal is really just something that is just,

like, insanely big.

And we've got all these NIL rules.

And you look at 2024, Trev, and you look at the top teams in the Codford season in

2024.

You know, you had Indiana who was a portal team, and they were built through the portal.

You look at the rest of the country.

I mean, the highest seeds, Arizona State, heavy portal team.

Boise State, mostly homegrown.

Georgia, homegrown. Oregon, a blend, right? Oregon had a lot of portal guys, but also had a

lot of homegrown players. Then you look at the teams that played in round two, Ohio State

homegrown, Tennessee, mostly homegrown, with some portal pickups. Texas, mostly homegrown with some portal pickups.

Clemson, mostly homegrown with a couple portal pickups, but not very many at all.
