We're going to talk in the closer market in 2024, which is kind of a fascinating one.

0:38.9

We're talking to starting pitching in the top 150. So starting pitching the first 10 rounds in the 15 teamer. Talk about some intriguing names there,

0:42.6

some polarizing names. Jeff, really quick, give me a rotawire.com slash pod plug.

0:48.5

Okay, rotawire.com slash pod. You get your free peek behind the paywall. You get access to all of our

0:53.2

articles, our rankings, our player news, our projected starters grid, you name it, getting ready for a draft season and in the season as well, depending on where we're at. You get two days behind the paywall, no credit card required, and we think you'll like it and you'll want to subscribe. That's worked for us for 20 years. So hopefully you'll keep doing it. RotaWire.com slash pod. That's why have you do it. You do that so well. Well, thank you. How's everything with you, Jeff? I'm good. I'm good. I posted the hitting category targets article up on the site this weekend. And I'm going to do the same for pitching soon. Just, you know, getting some of the data. I was a year off of my pitching data,

1:29.5

so it's taking me a little bit longer to do that.

1:31.2

But yeah, it's, it's,

1:33.9

I mean, you really realize just how much

1:36.4

soul and bases have jumped, for instance.

1:38.7

And yet how it wasn't,

1:41.8

it doesn't necessarily translate into overall success by dominating the category whereas

1:46.7

if you dominate ERA whip home runs RBI you dominate everything else too so and so same you know

1:54.4

lesson that you learn from sole basis mostly applies to saves too which we'll be talking about

1:58.7

later we will be I feel like this week really like ramped up the baseball draft chatter. I don't know what happened. I know if it was just football ending or everybody kind of realized we got a month until drafts in Vegas, a lot of high stakes contest coming up. But I just like my text messages and Twitter, like there's a lot of like stat talk and like breaking down players. And I felt like that really ramped up this. Well, yeah, for sure. And drafts happen too. I mean, scarf and the series of earth drafts happened over the last two weekends. And mixed labor was Tuesday night. I did that one. And, you know, we're back on days now. You and I are doing podcasts every Sunday now. Yep. It's just the rhythm is happening here. It's great, you know, and I'm excited. Let's hit, we got a lot to talk about. We're going to talk relievers and starters, but real quick, just some news and notes, just some stuff that happened over the weekend. One of the free agents finally signed, and I'm not talking about Garrett Cooper. I'm talking about Cody Bellinger signing with the Cubs. Three years, 80 million. Pretty fascinating deal because he has an opt out after each of the first two years. So essentially it's a kind of a LeBron James, Kevin Durant, like one year, and then, you know, plus two kinds of you've seen the NBA a lot. Bellinger gets 30 million this year, 30 million next year, than 20 million. It's an interesting deal because if he has another great year, I assume he opts out and tries to get that, you know, nine digit guaranteed payout. Right. He's just kind of okay or bad, obviously bad he stays, but if he's just kind of okay, he probably takes the 30 million next year, too. It's an interesting little setup.
