| 2:02.8 | Guys, welcome to his episode of The Greatness. I'm your host Darius Meshaw's name. Boy, do we have a special guest? Michael Easter is in the house. What's up, Michael? It's up, man. I'm glad to be here. Thanks for having me. Oh, man. Super, super pumped to have you here. Do you mind if I do a little bit of housekeeping, then we'll get jumping into the show? Yeah, dude. Housekeep away. Let's do it. So for let's do it, got to keep it clean. So for listeners who are new to the show, the greatness machine, we're about two things. People live in their passions and those creating greatness in the world and doing so despite the odds. Michael here is now the short of passion or greatness. So I was introduced to your work. I have a friend who owns a company in Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie Perez, former guests on the show. And he got me into like hyper reading. |
| 2:08.9 | I tried to, last year I read 52 books. A year before that, I read 35. This year, this year I lowered |
| 2:13.8 | the number, but I'm always pounding through a lot of books. And he and I recommend books to each other. And he does, he got into this kick last year where he's like, not eating this food, cold showers every day. He's like, like this list of like hard ass shit that he was doing to himself. And I'm like, and it was kind of inspiring. I think he read like 115 books. I mean, like, this guy's always challenging himself, but always trying to do hard things. And it's just around him testing himself. And I was like, so I asked him, I was like, man, like, what's up with that? Like, I mean, I know that you're trying to challenge yourself to be better. And he's like, you know, I read this book, the comfort crisis. And it just, you know, really changed the way I think about it. And so whenever he would say like stuff like that, I was always, he and I were always adding books to our list based off of each other's recommendation. So your book went on my list. Probably like, it was probably a year ago. And then, and so then I started asking him to come on the show. You booked and I was like, oh, it got lost in the shop. It was on my list, but I hadn't read it yet. And so, man, I read your book Comfort Crisis. I was telling you before the show, I just finished it this morning. And I'm really pumped to read your next book's scarcity brain. And yeah, man, like kind of a life-changing book. It was really cool. Like, you're awesome, dude. Like, really pumped to have you here to talk about all the things you've been studying and the work you've been doing. And yeah, man, just really excited to get out of this conversation today. Cool. Yeah. Well, I'm psyched. I'm glad your buddy got something out of the book. It changed his behavior. |
