here. You ready? Let's do this. Both Democrats and Republicans are now racing to remake congressional

lines and facing plenty of resistance. As we told you yesterday, more than 50 Texas Democrats fled the state

to avoid a vote on Republicans' new political map. They say the map amounts to a legal voter suppression

and a threat to American democracy. It was actually a map President Trump requested to help the

GOP get five new seats in the U.S. House in next year's midterm elections, even though traditionally

was delayed. Now it's not clear how long this tactic will last. Governor Abbott says he ordered local law enforcement officials to find and arrest absent Democrats and return them to the state capital, saying the Dems have abandoned their duties.

But state law enforcement agents actually don't have the power to make those arrests unless the lawmakers come back to Texas.

Texas Dems also face a $500 fine for every day they're missing. And if they do return,

Abbott could always call another special session. Either way, it's not just about Texas.

President Trump and his allies are also looking at other states where the GOP might be able to
