It's time to have a discussion about who the super sophomores were for Tennessee football this past football season.

0:05.6

Not a whole lot of freshmen sticking out this past year, but there were about four or five sophomores that did a lot of things.

0:12.2

Who was best? That and a whole lot more.

0:14.1

Boogie Bentley today here on a Friday, Locked on Balls.

going to recap the Vanderbilt game, just a little bit. Really recap the eight and four season

1:02.9

that was for Tennessee football. And then what's to come? What's coming up next in December's

1:08.0

silly season? That's coming up in segments two and three. But first, I do want to talk

1:12.1

about these super sophomores. Talked about the freshmen, who can red shirt, top five or top

1:17.7

couple of contributors on offense and defense breakouts, freshman of the year for Tennessee football.

1:23.0

What about those super sophomores? This one was fun to write because there were two on each side

1:26.8

of the football that really stood out to me. And let me know if you guys agree with this. We'll start

1:32.0

with offense. Dylan Samson. I mean, Dylan Samson, he was option three in the backfield.

1:37.4

Should have been option two, in my opinion. But it is a crowded backfield. Jabari Small has done a lot of

1:41.7

good things and did a lot of good things this year as well. His average yard per carry was was pretty solid. But Dylan Samson took a step,

1:48.9

man. He was dynamic. And even though he only had like a combined 60 yards in the season

1:53.9

opener, had four touchdowns. You kind of knew it was going to be a special season. He burst on

1:58.5

Really good ball by Joe Milton as well to get things going in the opener against the Cavaliers. And then came in, vultured a couple of touchdowns there towards the end of the drives, but had four total touchdowns in that game against Virginia,

2:18.3

the first Tennessee running back to do that since John Kelly Jr. back in 2017 in the season
