Today we are diving right into a shocking case that has captivated the country's morbid

interest for the past few weeks.

Caitlin Coons and Jonathan Jones were not some modern day Romeo and Juliet.

Not a set of star-crossed lovers.

What they were was a 17-year-old and a 33-year-old in a sexual relationship.

Ugh, in fact, even before the horrifying events of November came to pass, the couple's quote-unquote relationship

had caused some trouble.

Yes, we use the word relationship. Very disapprovingly.

In October 2022, Caitlin and Jonathan were spotted by police walking down a dark road near a truck stop at night. Concerned for their safety, the officers stopped them.

Despite them giving the officers false names, authorities quickly ascertained that Caitlin was a runaway.

She had previously been in the custody of children's services and was supposed to be at a

nearby medical facility, which she did not have permission to leave.

Jones had basically broken her out and driven her to a motel.

What's worse on Jonathan's phone, police found nude photos of Caitlin,

who was 15 or 16 at the time, as well as the two having sex.

Apparently he had been planning on selling the photos.

In March of this year, Jonathan Jones pleaded guilty to counts of endangering children

in attempt to commit pandering obscenity involving a minor.
