but first, a teen-facing adult charges after allegedly assaulting and strangling his step-sister

on a cruise ship. Let's go ahead and jump right in.

First, out of the Southern District of Florida, months after the discovery of a teen's remains on a

cruise ship, federal authorities have revealed details in the case accusing the victim's stepbrother

of sexual assault and murder. Anna Kempner was just 18 years old when her family

boarded a carnival cruise bound for the Caribbean, but the ship was forced to divert to Miami

after Kempner was tragically found dead, covered in life vests under the bed of her cabin.

Authorities named Kempner's stepbrother as a person of interest in the case, with some

family members noting that he had a creepy obsession with the victim.

However, the details were initially sealed as the teen was charged as a juvenile at the time.
