The topic we're going to focus on is what is it to be conscious?

So what is it to be conscious? That's the question. What is it for anything that's conscious?

To be conscious.

We need a clear question to start with though.

We need an adequate clarification, an initial clarification of what we're on about.

philosophers don't have that.

Scientists certainly don't have that.

That's why they all disagree madly.

We can do better.

We can fix the subject in a preliminary way to start with.

So how do you do that then?

Well, one way you can do it is by looking at what philosophers say.
