| 0:25.1 | accounts, which is almost half of U.S. households now have a Roku to watch TV with. |
| 0:31.3 | The way we reach all those households is by selling our Roku TVs and by streaming players. |
| 0:36.0 | And Roku TVs are primarily sold to our TV partners like Hysens or TCL. |
| 0:42.0 | But we also announced that this is to |
| 0:45.8 | yes that we're selling our first Roku designed built and sold television. |
| 0:51.4 | And the reason we do that is that it allows us to continue to drive innovation, a platform |
| 0:56.3 | for innovation that we then give back to our TV partners. |
| 1:01.5 | So it sounds like in a way you see these hardware devices as being lost leaders, but you're |
| 1:07.1 | launching them at a time when there's concern about consumer demand. |
| 1:10.8 | There's inflation, there's talk of a recession. Isn't this a |
| 1:14.0 | particularly tough time to be doubling down on the hardware side of the business? |
| 1:17.3 | Roku is a service company. We generate billions of dollars a year in |
| 1:22.0 | revenue from advertising and from distributing streaming services and we have a great platform to do that. |
| 1:26.7 | But the core of that business is the market share of our platform. |
| 1:31.1 | And so 70 million plus active accounts. |
| 1:34.4 | The way we get that is through selling TVs and players |
