and friend of the panel, Kelly Hayes. Kelly is a nominee author, organizer, movement educator,

and photographer. She is the host of Truthout's podcast Movement Memos and the creator of organizing my thoughts, which is a weekly newsletter about politics and justice work.

She is also the co-author of the book, Let This Radicalize You with Maryam Caba, which we had the great honor of discussing in a past episode of Death Panel.

And I've asked her on today to talk about a new upcoming book that she edited called Read This When Things Fall Apart, Letters to Activists in Crisis, which is coming out from AK Press in November.

Kelly, welcome back to the death panel. It's always so nice to get the chance to have you on.

Oh, thank you so much for having me. It's a joy to be here. I'm so glad to have you on today to talk about the new book that you edited,

which again is called Read This When Things Fall Apart, Letters to Activists in Crisis.

I really appreciate this project, and it's a wonderful, sort of strange little book,

and I mean that 1,000% as a compliment. It struck me as a kind of profoundly necessary work

for our times. It kind of arrived right on time. It's a kind of care package for people involved in struggle, activism, and organizing in times that often feel catastrophic. And this isn't just a book to kind of like read in one go and then shelve and forget about or, you know,

it's a book to hold close and to return to and to share with people with co-strugglers who might
