If we fail, it is not because our ideas are not popular.

It's because we failed as organizers.

And we didn't build the broadest possible coalition that we could and that's a heavy responsibility

I mean I didn't have that responsibility when I was a young activist I didn't have that

I didn't think our ideas were popular enough right But now we know where they are.

Yeah, exactly.

When I spoke at Jeremy Corbin's First Labor Party

conference after the election where he did so much better

than all the experts had predicted, I said,

you showed us you can win. Now you have to win. We all have to win now now that we know.

I mean I honestly didn't know. I hope. I know. It really pulls back to screen too on a lot of things because there are people who I thought I was political allies with and then of course if someone this viable came along to show that these ideas were viable

Of course we'd be fighting for them and then they didn't it was like a real no but that's where you

started this conversation and I think it's really resonant for me because I feel like the

Sanders campaign and even Occupy Wall Street, we saw there were liberals, like people who were more centrist than me,

who I realized were liberal centrist because they honestly didn't believe that more progressive
