If you've listened to past episodes of Mom Brain there's one name that has come up many times by past guests, and that name is Dr. Dan Siegel. He is a Neuropsychiatrist, clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine and the founding co-director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA. He's also the NY Times best-selling author of countless parenting books, most notably The Whole-Brain Child. His new book The Power of Showing Up will be out on 1/7/20.
Dr. Siegel discusses the importance of present parenting and building valuable relationships with our kids. Also, how to help our children listen to their WHOLE body (gut, heart, mind and more) to develop "mindsight," and the "internal compass" that will help them through emotionally challenging periods of life. Plus, a scientific look at the importance of empathy, tenderness, and presence.
Favorite Things:
Dr. Siegel: GRATITUDE and taking the time every day to acknowledge what we are grateful for.
Hilaria: The documentary, America The Beautiful
Daphne : California Baby Eucalyptus Bath Drops for Kids
