Considered a truce in a potential trade war, at least a temporary one, President Trump agreed to

pause his 25% tariffs on America's two largest trading

partners, Canada and Mexico. This is generally considered good news, since economists had

warned the tariffs could have had massive impacts on the economies of Canada, Mexico, and the U.S.,

likely causing inflation and even recessions. The pause is said to last 30 days while the

countries work toward agreements on border security and drug trafficking. Already, Canada and Mexico

have promised to send more authorities to patrol their borders with the U.S. The 10% tariff Trump

ordered on China is still set to go into effect as scheduled today. Meanwhile, President Trump

also threatened to tax

imports from the European Union to which the EU promised to respond firmly.

You know how we told you the Trump administration was moving to shut down the U.S. Agency for

International Development? Well, now U.S. aid workers are being locked out of their headquarters.

Dozens of them protested outside the building yesterday. They were joined by Democratic lawmakers,

including some who are promising to block confirming President Trump's State Department nominees.
