Shinnade is the author of the recently released Old English Medical Remedies.

She joins us to talk about extracting Raven's Eyes, Gaul, Hag attacks, the Nine Herbs Charm, and many more of our favorite things.

Quick heads up before we begin, there were two or three Skype dropouts in the latter half of the conversation, which weren't obvious to me when we were recording,

so apologies for that, but the discussion is easily picked back up.

Well yes very pleased to have you as you are a first-time guest you have to pass the first question before we move

on to the elimination round.

So, Chinnade, were you a weird kid?

Oh, a weird we had a kid,

cricky, I guess I'd have to say possibly.

I'm just trying to recall now.

I've always been interested in the supernatural and I guess that came out in a few different ways. I remember as an example we, well my friend and I when we were about eight years old. We used to put a recording device in

abandoned buildings. I say device because it was a cassette player which will show how old I am and we would record and leave, go back an hour later,

listen to the recording to see if we got any ghosties on it.

So that was when we were about eight years old. So I suppose

not all kids were doing that type of thing. So if that makes me weird, then I guess...

I did some ghost hunting with my kids around that, with friends around that age, but never with the same kind of academic rigor of bringing a cassette player. I don't think I had a recording cassette player.
