Summary

It has been a big year here at Life in the Peloton, and we’re going out with a bang for this last episode of the 2023 season. I’ve got one of the greats of the young new generation in Australian cycling on the pod today – I’m Talking Luft with Luke Plapp. We’re both long-time Brunswick Cycling Club members, and I always love getting the chance to record the pod in person, so it was a special moment to sit down at the iconic Brunswick Velodrome to record this episode with Plappy. He’s home from Europe and he’s gearing up for a huge summer of cycling in Australia, where he’s lining up for the triple - looking to take his third National Road Race Championship at Buninyong in January. We talk a bit about this goal and head further back into the Luke Plapp story to get some of the history, and of course, I put him through the full Talking Luft treatment. I hope you enjoy this last listen of 2023! Thanks for all the support and encouragement throughout the season, we’ll be back in the new year with heaps of exciting new content.   Cheers,   Mitch

Well, welcome everyone. This is Talking Luft, presented to you by Raffer. I'm Mitch

0:17.8

Docker and we have come to the end of the season. This is it. This will be our last

0:22.9

episode for this year, but don't worry, we will be back early next year when the tour down under

0:27.9

begins. We're back with our normal episodes and some really exciting stuff. I'll tell you about that

0:34.0

along the way. As things start to unravel, life in the Peloton is going to bring

0:38.5

you more exciting stuff next year. But for now, I want to say thanks to everyone because it

0:44.0

has been a great season, some fantastic episodes. I've really enjoyed some of the guests,

0:48.7

some of the adventures, but most importantly, I've enjoyed your feedback. I love hearing what you

0:52.7

like, what you don't like, and also what your suggestions are. So keep them coming in and I'll try and bring you some really cool, interesting stuff next year. For now, we've got Talking Luft and it's a little bit of a roundabout way I'm doing it this time. I've got Luke Plap, the two times Australian champion. He hasn't been on the podcast yet.

1:15.0

Well, he has been, he's been in as a feature in the Vowelter episode last year,

1:17.1

but I haven't done a story on Plappy yet.

1:20.0

And that is going to come to you next year in the season.

1:25.7

But first, I wanted to give you a little snippet of Plappy because we're on the eve of the Australian Championships here in Australia. He's going to

1:29.5

get ready to try and do the hat trick. Can you imagine? So I thought, God, I've got to get

1:34.9

Plapy in before we go to the nationals. Hear his thoughts before he maybe becomes three times

1:40.2

champion. He's a really cool guest. He is a star in the making, if not already a star.

1:47.8

Now, you've heard me talk about AG1 this year on the podcast in most of my episodes. And if you're a

1:53.5

long time listener, you would know I've been drinking AG1 for about eight years now. I started

1:58.5

drinking AG1 daily when I was racing overseas as a pro because

2:02.1

I was looking for the marginal gains, making sure I had everything topped up to the absolute

2:07.5

max. These days, I'm still taking AG1 because having the extra support that AG1 gives me is so

2:14.5

necessary in my day-to-day life. As a nutritional supplement, I believe it's actually
