So you co-wrote this best-selling memoir, out of bounds with Jim Brown.

Before we talk about one night in Miami and the issues around it, I just, who was the Jim Brown that you knew?

Well, that's a good question.

You know, kind of a tough question.

Complicated.

One of the things that surprised me when I spent time with him was that he had a sense of humor

and that was one of the reasons I think people liked the book because he was funny in it

and people didn't see that side of him because typically when he was on TV say you know

for a short sound bite he was usually angry about something.

And he was very gracious to me.

You know, I went there a couple times a week for, I think a summer probably to do the

interviews for the book.
