There are a number of Christians out there who will argue that the gospel accounts are historical sources and infer that because of this, the contents of those accounts are true by way of being part of a historical document.

This is at best a stupid argument, if not blatantly dishonest. While the gospel accounts are without doubt historical documents, this does not make their content true by default.

Historical sources have to be categorized, analyzed, and the information in them weighed up.

Are the originals, copies? Can we trace a development of a theme over time?

Are the authors bias or misinformed?

To state simply that the Gospels are historical documents,

therefore true, shows a complete lack of care in your epistemology. If you think that the contents

of the Gospels are true, and that makes you a convincing case to argue that point, give us a call,
