This is Tales to Terrify. Good evening, children of the night, and welcome.

The votes are in, the ballots have been counted, and we've officially selected a winner for our nautical flash fiction contest. But before the big reveal, I'd like to give one last thank you to everyone

who entered. We had 50-some entries, and the final selection process was particularly grueling.

Who knew a simple prompt of nautical horror could dredge up so much twisted terror from the depths of your minds?

After much deliberation, and only a couple of knife fights, we selected one winner and three runners-up.

Working our way up to number one, the winners are The Meroman by Deirdre Gregg,

The Gift of the Abyss by Andy Gooding Cow, and The Curse of the Eldritch Mermaid by Helena O'Connor.

And our grand prize, drum roll please, goes to Deirdre Gregg for her haunting, seafaring fright, bells made of bone.

Congratulations, Deirdre.

So what's next? Well, our roster of talented narrators will get to work breathing

fetid life into these horrific morsels. Then we'll assemble them into an episode and

unleash them on you sometime in the coming months.
