I hope you're staying warm wherever you are.

As I'm sure some of you know already, I'm from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada,

smack dab in the middle of the Canadian prairies.

And we've had the pleasure, or rather displeasure,

of topping out as the coldest place on Earth, at least once in the last couple of weeks.

Yeah, colder than Siberia. Colder than Antarctica. Colder even than Mars, as it turns out.

With wind chill, some days it's dropped colder than

minus 50 Celsius. That's almost minus 60 for those who use Fahrenheit. Not your typical kind of

horror, but when your skin begins to freeze in seconds and it hurts just to breathe, that's a horror

all its own.

Now, I'm not sharing this to try to make you feel bad for those of us caught in the quote-unquote polar vortex.

But rather, as a segue to let you know why I'm so glad to be elsewhere at the time of release of this episode.
