Before we hit the road again this week, I came across something in my online travels I thought I'd share.

Now, we've talked about a pretty wide range of horror subgenres over the years here at Tales to Terrify,

from movies to video games, myths to true crime. Hell, we've even shared a cookbook with you, but National Geographic's new TV series, Dead by Dawn, is the first time I can remember

stumbling across a nature documentary, specifically building

itself as horror. It only makes sense, I guess. Regular old nature, after all, has conjured

up creatures so terrifying and places so eerie, that it puts many of the best imaginations in our

genre to shame.

As I'm sure you can guess by the name,

Dead by Dawn focuses on the life and death battle

nature wages every night after dark.

Now, I don't know if I would be comfortable actually calling this horror.

Aside from showing a little more of the gruesome side of nature

that series like Planet Earth seemed to avoid, and incorporating some audio and visual elements
