The start of a new year.

Seems like a perfect time to take a journey, don't you think?

So, if you're all packed up, you've used the washroom and grabbed some snacks,

I think it's high time we hit the road.

You know, place is such a funny thing. As humans, we're so deeply rooted to a sense of place.

Where we live, where we work, where we grew up, where our ancestors are from. Our very identities are often defined in terms of place, and so often our fears are tied to place as well. The run-down

old house at the end of the street, the dark forest path, we're nervous to walk down,

that neighborhood we just don't feel quite safe.

Place can be somewhere we belong, where we feel safe and protected, or it can feel vulnerable,

alien.

It's the unknown, the unforeseen, and the unexpected, not knowing what you'll
