Good evening, Children of the Night.

Last weekend was the film festival that I mentioned before,

and I'll make sure to mention any highlights for horror films,

which I probably won't be able to get done until next week,

or maybe the week afterwards.

It's a lot of movies to sort through.

In the meantime, I did see a film that you can find streaming right now.

Before I Wake, directed by Mike Flanagan, starring Kate Bosworth and Thomas Jane,

who you'll likely remember from The Mist.

That's the movie, not the television show.

Oh, and The Expanse from

Sci-Fi Channel. The story in the film does revolve around a child, but manages to not be an

out-and-out creepy kid's story. The ending of the film is also surprisingly and pleasantly

optimistic.

I do enjoy the stories where everyone dies, but from time to time it is nice to get one where there is a positive ending.

And speaking of comments that are overdue, I mentioned, what was it, a month and a half ago,

that I had started Lauren Bucas's broken monsters, and I'm loving it,
