Yes, so welcome to Stories of Scotland. I am Jenny, a lowland cartographer. And I'm Annie, a

Highland historian. So we were interested in Thorn Hill, which is down in the borders of

Scotland, because that's where my grandfather, my papa, as I call him, grew up.

Jenny and I visited my grandparents and had a blather with them about growing up in rural Scotland during the Second World War

and coming of age in post-war Scotland.

So this series is a short but very intimate examination of personal and family histories,

and it was a very touching experience for me.
