I'm Aaron. And we're here today to talk about David Simon and George Bellicano's brand new show just released this week today as of the time you're hearing this

probably we've seen the first episode and we're here to talk about it err A-run, what are your general thoughts on this project?

This feels like watching the first episode of the Wire, right?

Or similar to the first episode of Game of Thrones, the first episode of the expanse, like you are thrown into a large world

that's fully populated with the realistic characters that are not going to sit there and be like, oh, hi viewer, this is the first time you're watching this show, let me catch you up and everything.

It's told in a very interesting time where this covers like two or three years of Baltimore history

and jumps kind of back and forth in your only clue.

There's gonna be one, the most jarring one

is gonna be preceded by a black screen

that says two years previously.

But you kind of jump around the timeline,

you gotta pay attention to like police reports

that are being typed in front of you

to see like what the POV is, what the date.

It is standard David Simon Pelicano storytelling where they do

throw you kind of into deep end and what want the storytelling and the intrigue to be strong enough to put up to swim, essentially, to not sink.

And I find that really fun. I really like being in a show that makes me kind of like work a

work a sweat and rewards like close watching and and making clever connections

and paying attention to people's faces.

But I also think like a lot of their series,

it's also designed to kind of like if you just let this wash over you
