I read over the years, I visited Taiwan in 2004, and it was at that point a striving and not yet as

wealthy as it could be nation practicing capitalism than capitalism.

It was unclear what the future was, but I did learn while I was in Taipei that there were

700 missiles pointed at me from the mainland.

That was 20 years ago. Things have changed a great deal,

except for the threat is still directed at Taiwan, which is now a very rich place, integral to the

success of the global economy, not the least because of TSMC. It's outside of Shanghai, outside of

Taipei, making it possible for the high-end chips
