This is CBS I on the World, I'm John Bachelor. Reuters Taiwan President, the new president of Taiwan President Lie, says Tiananmen Crackdown will never be forgotten.

It is June 4th. Tiananmen Square of 1989 was a tragedy for Asia, but today

it is remembered by people who understand what the odds are of surviving the onslaught of the People's Republic of

China when it rolls tanks over children. Taiwan President Lai Ching Tay said he will

work hard to make historical memory last forever and reach out to

everyone who cares about Chinese democracy on the 35th anniversary of the 1989

Tiananmen Square crackdown in Beijing. I welcome my colleague Gregory Coppley of

Defense and Foreign Affairs to comment not only on the memory of Tiananmen Square, those moments when China was glimpsing at freedom,

but also the significance of President Lai speaking this, knowing what threat he's under, and the people of Taiwan from those same Chinese

communist members who rolled those tanks in 1989.
