Gordon, a very good evening to you, Kin Men Island. I'm looking at a photograph that Reuters has made and BBC is put up of what appears to be a spit of land something like sand dunes with a shallow water probably

salt water and in the distance looks to be industrial towers what What am I looking at, Gordon?

You're looking at a portion of the main island of Kinman,

Chinman, and it is about three or four, maybe five nautical miles from the main Chinese coast.

The city you are seeing is in Fujian province, it's Shaman,

and it shows that there are parts of the Taiwan which are very very close to China and actually quite far away from the main island of Taiwan.

So these sand dunes, these are Taiwanese sand dunes. of Taiwan

is sand dunes.

Yeah, the main island of Kinman which is sort of a bow shape, a bow tie shape is actually quite large, but it is, you know, of course in comparison to the mainland, it's not that big.

But it is critically important in some ways, and Taiwan essentially has decided not to defend it if there were ever

to be invasion because it is indefensible.
