at the People's Republic of China from the point of view of the threat to the people of Taiwan,

we welcome Steve Yates, our colleague, Chair of the America First Policy Institute's new

China Policy Initiative. Steve Xi Jinping is making a speech at the end of the year as

he often does in coded threatening words towards Taiwan. However, before we deal with Xi Jinping,

a homosapian invader, let's deal with the virus, the COVID-19 invader. The reports from

the mainland are appalling, a global catastrophe. What are the reports from Taipei? Are they

well defended from whatever is sweeping through China? Good evening, Steve.

Good evening, John. At least at this point, reporting out of Taipei is heavily focused on

monitoring, testing, and limiting the exchanges between Taiwan and the mainland, seeing that

is the primary mode of transmission for the current round of the virus or the new

variant of the virus that's spreading through China. So I have not seen very much reporting

about an uptick in caseloads or a crisis mentality in Taipei, but back to the initial

approach they had at the outbreak of COVID in 2020 and late 2019, perhaps, where they increase

monitoring and limit the human traffic between China and Taiwan to mitigate.
