Mississippi State Baseball, 18th in the Baseball America poll. I feel like you can make a really strong

case to rank them higher. I feel like you can make a really strong case not to rank them at all.

And so you sort of end up there in

the middle at 18. What's the ceiling for this team as you see it? And what's the floor?

Well, listen, I think that you put it perfectly. I see Mississippi State as a team that you could

kind of argue in both directions. They have a lot of talent on this roster, but there's a lot to

make up for in terms of what they lost, and that's especially the case on the pitching side,

where 73% of the group from last year in terms of innings contribution is no longer a part of

the program, and they've moved on. So I see Mississippi State as a group that has all the pieces together to be able to make a run and push back to Omaha the way its fans expect it to and the way, you know, Coach Lamanis expects them to.

But I also see a lot of room for needing to prove themselves.

They do need some guys to step up that either haven't before or haven't at Mississippi State before.

Remember, we're in an era now where a lot of contributions are going to have to come from guys who are incoming transfer talent.

That is especially the case at a place like Mississippi State this year.
