Brian, Hey Dad here with you on a Friday afternoon and I am joined by new Mississippi State

offensive coordinator Kevin Barbay. I've been looking forward to having you on the

show for quite some time. You said before we got started you're out working mat

drills with the guys before this got going you going to be able to get through this they work

you too hard.

Oh yeah I'll be able to get through it but my voice is going to be a little bit scratchy.

Hopefully not be the case when you're calling plays at Davis

Wade Stadium this fall.

So let's just get right into it.

You know, you took this job as part of Coach Arnett's first staff

here at Mississippi State.

What about Mississippi State was attractive to you to make you want to leave App State?

Yeah, well, first and foremost, you know, when I was going through this process with Coach Arnett, you know, I had some interest from other places and I've done a couple interviews and talked to people.

You know, and for us in this profession, it's all about the people that you work with.

And, you know, it was very evident to me from the get-go that Coach Arnett's passion and his vision and his direction

really aligned with the same belief that I had and you know it was kind of when you know you know and you

know early in the process I kind of felt like you hey, I really want to go work for Coach Arnett for this guy.

And I hung the phone up and I told my wife, I said, this is it, this is the one, this is the is the guy and so you know really just a land vision and you know felt like our

passion and our energy were the same.
