I'm John Batchezer, continuing with my colleagues, Bill Rajo, the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy, a senior fellow.

He keeps the Long War Journal and one of his major correspondents, David Dayud of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies,

as they respond in some fashion to this vacuum.

We begin with the headline from the Financial Times.

Israel draws furious reaction from Egypt after taking more Syrian territory.

It's referring to the reports we've had that Israel's

moved in to secure the Druze villages on the Golan Heights and Mount Herman, the high ground in the

area. And what is the opportunity or what is the threat to Egypt that Israel is protecting its

northern border?

David, does this make sense that Cairo would speak up in protest of Israel being secure?
