My colleague, the executive director of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy, Jonathan Shanzer,

who's just returned to the Middle East.

And he mentions the Houthis as part of the mystery of how to solve the Iranian predation in the whole region and the world.

Their direct talks or indirect talks in Oman is one piece, but the Houthis remain in the field and as of right now unbowed, unlike Hezbollah and the destroyed on the run and no future Hamas.

The Houthis have continued now and again to fire their missiles.

Some look to be made in Iran. I'm told that

they have missile capability as well. So what is the measure in Israel of how the U.S.

air campaign is doing against the Houthis? Have they decap the bosses?

They have not yet, John. I think they've done a good job of suppressing the missile fire.

There is not a lot of that coming out of Yemen right now, and I think that's the good news.

There was a drone that was shot down the other day, fired by the Houthis.

But the firing has been sporadic and certainly does not seem as intense

as it was maybe even two weeks ago. I think that's the good news. And I do think that, you know,

you're seeing the killing of Houthi fighters, you're seeing the destruction of some of these

arsenals. But there is concern, John, because this is an air campaign. An air campaigns

themselves may not be sufficient. Now, I think it has been sufficient to drive out some of the Iranian

advisors. I think that's helpful. But I think if you ask me, the real measure of success will be whether

they are able to target Abdul Malik al-Houthi,

the leader of the Houthis. If they get him, I think they probably suck the oxygen out of the

room. The Houthis will likely lose their stomach for this if they lose their very charismatic

leader, not unlike what we saw with Hizbalah and the assassination, the liquidation of Casa Nasrallo,

the Secretary General back in September of last year.
