But I really felt that the industry didn't respond in kind.

A lot of times when people talk about black people, it's always like, oh, the struggle, oh, the pain, oh, the hurt.

And all of that is true.

You know, we have suffered so much.

But there's also joy as a woman of color sometimes when you are the only person in the room, you can feel like you're small. You can

feel like your voice doesn't matter. What you have to say doesn't matter. Sometimes sometimes you need

something to hype you up to say, all right, yeah. We're about to kill it. Your voice matters.
