Hill suspect accused of planted a pipe bomb in Washington nearly five years ago,

appearing before a judge today.

Brian Cole, Jr., not entering a plea, but telling a federal judge in Washington, D.C.,

he understands the charges against him.

The 30-year-old from Woodbridge, Virginia, charged with transporting and planting two improvised

explosive devices outside of the headquarters of the Republican and Democratic National Parties

on the eve of the January 6th, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

No one was hurt before the pipe bombs were rendered safe.

The FBI, revealing coal, was identified as a suspect through credit card charges, cell phone

data, and a license plate reader, not sharing details of a possible motive, or whether there was

any connection to the attack on the Capitol. The judge ordering him to remain in jail.

A detention hearing is set for December 15th.
