My name is Tom Lang, fresh off of a vacation.

Sorry, folks, if you hear a bit of a New York twinge to the way I speak, I've been around a lot of family members who sound like they root for the Mets or just came out of Goodfellas or something like that. Ira, how's it going? It's been a long time. I haven't seen you in about a week, week or two. Yeah, man. I hope you enjoyed your vacation. Before that, I was on vacation for about six days. we went up to dcC. So Warchand's been logging our miles into the northeast. Corey went out to the Midwest. And I think we're about ready to recamine. I think we're having a staff meeting tomorrow. So we're bringing it all back together, getting ready for football season. Warchan has been scouting different conference footprints to see which one would fit best for Florida State. No, that's not what we were doing. We were just getting in the preseason vacation before it's on lockdown. conference realignment is a topic that might be just a little bit interesting to folks and

I mean, take me through the last week in your life as you've been mining for information and just trying to see what sticks with Florida State and either the SEC or the Big Ten at some time down the road and how viable that actually is.

Yeah, it was kind of funny to watch, not funny, but it was interesting to watch the,

all the different scenarios that were thrown out by different national media types

throughout the process.

You know, when the news broke that USC and UCLA were jumping to the, to the Big Ten,

everybody said, okay, well, clearly this is the realignment we've been waiting for.

And all the dominoes are going to fall.

And some of the national reporters were reporting things like, oh, well, maybe FSU or Clemson

and North Carolina, they can pony up a lot of money and get out quickly and make all this

happen.

And then kind of as the week went on and we started talking to people locally, you realize, okay, well, that's not going to be quite as easy as you thought. First of all, there's not only the exit for you, which I think the exit fee, which I had heard was $100 million. I think Andrea Adelson actually reported the other day, it's $120 million. I'm going to assume she's correct because she works for one of the parties involved in this with ESPN.
