It's been a long time. It has been forever, but this is great.

One of the things that I love very much about my children, they have their own mind, and they

have their own position, and they think about things and

and some things we agree on, but most things we disagree on.

Samaya, she has been involved in education for a very long time.

And I remember when you were in

California and there were some students who were immigrants who had been labeled

and and they told you that they could not learn they the teachers were

speaking about them in a derogatory way and you stepped up and you spoke up for

them and I think about my being labeled am I always believing you label jars you

don't label children and you said these students can learn and you didn't just say

that and gave it lip service you You stepped up and you worked with

them. Tell me, what was it that you're willing to do that the other teachers did not do?

Well, I guess it's not so much that the other teachers didn't do because there were some teachers

who were also doing it. But I think when you run into

larger school systems, you have a combination of different types of teachers. So you have the teacher who definitely is the teacher that teaches not because they need a paycheck or because they want a paycheck.

Obviously they need one, but they're teaching because they really have a purpose and they have a destiny.

And that destiny is to pour into their students, is to awaken learning for the students who don't know how to learn.

And it's to even engage students that are gifted and talented because sometimes they get left behind as well.

It's to challenge them.
