you download your podcast from Paris, where I'm recording this podcast after the Mets dropped game three of the three-game series

against the Yankees, we are recording this at about 9, 9.30, but where I am, it's actually

3 o'clock at the morning. So I'm getting used to this very, very late night baseball thing.

But baseball is played very late at night. I mean, if you want to watch baseball in Europe, a 1 o'clock game is a 7 o'clock game. A 7 o'clock game. So it'll certainly be a challenging week as they get set to take on the Orioles on the Royals. But the Mets do win two out of three against the Yankees. Obviously, I am pleased. I think all of us should be pleased that they won this series coming into it when you saw the pitching matchups and you saw what the Mets were going to throw at the Yankees to try to get 27 outs three days in a row. It was a daunting task. So I do start with the positive, which is they won the series. With that said, the finale of this series featured a lot of

frustrations. And I actually want to start there. We'll work backwards. We'll get to Friday's

game. We'll get the Saturday's game. We'll name our Rico. I'm the man now star of the series.

We'll pick a net negative. But even though it's Max Fried against the Met bullpen,

and even though you go into a Sunday game, kind of with

that house money feel, I don't love saying house money, but yes, you already got two in the bank.

They're throwing their ace. The Mets are going to use basically just a ton of relievers that are

probably going to be DFAed in the next week to try to win this series.

And even when you're down 5-0 and you almost kind of wipe your hands clean and say,

it was what it was.

This was kind of an unwinnable game.

But then you see them fight back and you see them make it 5 to 2 and you see them make it 5 to 4.

And then there was a lot of little things

that really contributed to the miss opportunities in not sweeping the New York Yankees.

And the number one thing that jumps out at me, and I'm glad that Mendi was asked about it

after the game. But the one thing that bothered me throughout the Mets rally late in the

sixth, in the seventh, in the eighth, and eventually
