There is a huge breaking point in the Bible between the 12th and 13th chapters of Matthew.

I wanted to focus on that for a couple of weeks because it's very critical that we understand

how this works.

Scripturally speaking, this break between Matthew 12 and 13 echoes something that resounds throughout the entire Bible, as we shall

see this morning. We named it last week, and I think we've referred to it fairly often,

the principle of judicial blindness. That is, the Lord says that if you are unwilling to see and to hear, he won't help you see and hear.

He'll actually take away your sight and your hearing, even more than you already have,

which is a sad thing.

We see that principle operating in the world today.

Now, last week, we dealt with this passage on the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

When Jesus came to his people, Israel, they all knew who he was.

The scribes knew, the Pharisees knew, the temple lawyers, everybody, the temple police.

I'm convinced that even the Romans knew.

The word got around.

Just kind of a reference to daily life in Jerusalem.

If you lived in Jerusalem the time of Jesus,

the highest thing you would see,

and you could see it from every place in the whole city of Jerusalem
