When Jesus came and began his public ministry, he performed the messianic signs,

cleansing of the leper, the healing of the man born blind, and the casting out of the dumb demon.

But as we have seen, the Pharisees rejected those traditional signs and demanded another sign.

And Jesus said,

An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign.

He had already given them the signs, and they already knew who he was.

He began speaking at that point after they rejected him.

He began speaking in parables. And we've been looking at the parables they rejected him, he began speaking in parables.

And we've been looking at the parables of Matthew 13, seeing how they are a prophecy of the church age, essentially.

We've seen, and we were looking at this last week, that he was rejected in his own hometown.

He was particularly rejected in his own hometown. He was particularly rejected in his own hometown.

He tried to kill it, which is really an amazing thing.

They tried to toss him over a cliff, which still blows my mind.

I mean, can you imagine living in a place like that

that if you went into the synagogue and began teaching in a way that displeased someone,

that they'd throw you over a cliff, my neighborhood's not like that. Anyway, after they tried to
